Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2, 2026
Amici can contain very personal information. This policy explains what data may be stored, why it is used, where it is stored and how you stay in control.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Amici mobile app, the amici-app.com website and support conversations. Amici is a personal tracking app for people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
2. Data you may enter
Depending on how you use Amici, the app may contain:
- profile information: first name, age, language, declared condition, diagnosis year and usage goals;
- tracking data: mood, pain, urgency, bowel movements, blood, fatigue, stress, sleep, meals, alcohol, tobacco, physical activity and free-text notes;
- treatment data: treatment name, dose, form, schedules, doses taken or missed, reminders and injection sites if you choose to record them;
- appointment data: clinician name, date, location, reason, questions, topics to discuss and lab reminders;
- medical documents: prescriptions, visit notes, photos, PDFs, lab results or other files you voluntarily import;
- subscription information: Amici+ status provided by Apple, without access to your payment method.
3. Why these data are used
The data are used only to run the app:
- show your history and recent check-ins;
- generate cautious trends and context clues;
- prepare a pre-visit sheet and doctor PDF;
- manage treatments, reminders and dose history;
- link documents to appointments;
- adapt some screens to your language, goals and preferences;
- answer support requests if you contact us.
4. Local storage and iCloud
By default, Amici stores data locally on your device. If you enable Apple/iCloud sync, compatible data and documents may sync through Apple services associated with your iCloud account. Sync depends on your Apple account, iOS settings and iCloud availability.
Amici does not run a proprietary backend that allows the publisher to browse your health history. Apple services remain subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy rules.
5. Medical documents
Documents you import are meant for your personal use: reviewing them, linking them to an appointment or sharing them voluntarily. Amici does not automatically send documents to a doctor, insurer, employer or other third party.
6. Purchases and subscriptions
Amici+ subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit. Apple processes the information needed for payment, renewal, purchase restoration and cancellation. Amici only receives the technical information needed to know whether a subscription is active.
7. Notifications
With your permission, Amici may schedule local notifications for treatments, check-ins, appointments or upcoming lab tests. You can change or disable them in the app or in iOS settings.
8. What Amici does not do
- Amici does not sell your data.
- Amici does not show personalized advertising.
- Amici does not resell health information.
- Amici does not diagnose and does not replace a healthcare professional.
9. Retention and deletion
Data remain in the app until you delete them. You can delete items in the app, reset local data or manage iCloud data through Apple’s mechanisms. Support messages may be kept for the time needed to handle the request and maintain a reasonable record of the conversation.
10. Your rights
You can request access, correction or deletion of information you sent directly to us, for example through support. For data stored only on your device or in your iCloud account, you remain in control through the app, iOS and your Apple account.
11. Security
Amici relies on iOS protections, SwiftData, iCloud when enabled, and your device security. No app can guarantee zero risk: keep your iPhone updated, protect your Apple account and avoid sharing PDF exports with people who should not receive them.
12. Privacy contact
